AI is too much talk ... it's time for action!

About

Project "Flexo"

Developed as ARIA Seed Creators

Founded in 2024 to catch the new wave of AI centred robotics, Adaptive Machine Patterns is a robotics company designing systems from the ground up for intelligent autonomous systems.

Adaptive Machine Patterns is a research company, we have developed significant IP in the areas of Modular Robotics & a Novel Gear Mechanism, we are looking for partners to:

  • ★ Develop and license our patents
  • Contract Research & Development in robotics
  • Provide expertise in robotics, vision processing, & VLM/LLMs
  • ★ Partner with system integrators to deploy our technologies
  • ★ Robotics Product Development

If you are interested to find out more, get in touch with us at amp@adaptive-machine-patterns.com

Its been a wild ride, but we aren't alone - helped by the UK R&D ecosystem and based in Cambridge, heart of the 'silicon fen'. We would like to thank the following programmes & groups:

Dr Andy Whyte

Dr Andy Whyte & Flexo

Tech. Founder

In 2021, Dr Andy Whyte completed his PhD at the University of Cambridge in the application of AI to nuclear-fuel loading patterns - it was clear that AI was about to take off. His decades of experience as a product developer and research at Sony on intrinsically motivated learning for the Aibo entertainment roboitcs platform, converged. That recent advances in deep learning would inevitably spill over into robotics was still contraversial, but Adaptive Machine Patterns is a new kind of robotics company, designing systems from the ground up for intelligent autonomous systems.

The timing couldn't have been bertter! Andy says: "We have been lucky to be ARIA Seed Creators, working closely with ARIA - the UK's Moonshot Science Research Agency, we have been able to develop a novel approach to robotic arms, using lighter, composite materials and packing impressive compute into each of our modular robotic joints we are able to bring a novel approach to ROS based robotic systems. We have also created significant IP from the project and we are excited about the potential impacts of our work."
